My husband and I were devastated when we received the news from the doctor that Noah had cancer. That had not crossed our minds as a possibility for why he was so ill. I never thought that this would happen to my child. Noah had been healthy and developing normally up until this point. He was diagnosed with Stage IV neuroblastoma. The causes of neuroblastoma are unknown. It was difficult to accept this happened out of “bad luck”.

The prognosis was not good with only a small sliver of hope that he could possibly overcome this. Noah had some good days where he would eat and try to keep up with this twin brother at home. Watching my active toddler transform into an infant like state within a few short months was heartbreaking. It was shocking to witness how aggressive the disease was. He was a real fighter and held on longer than what was anticipated in the end. He did not survive. It was either detected too late or the treatment was not right for him. Noah died in my arms two months after his diagnosis at 17 months old.

Please consider making a donation to Noah’s park to help fund research and support families who have children with neuroblastoma. Click on the link to donate and learn more about neuroblastoma. http://www.cncfparks.org/help-a-child/park/37/
